The law for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities has recently changed under the Children and Families Act. Under this new act statements of SEN will gradually be transferred to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). To help parents and young people feel confident, understand and be supported throughout these changes the government has commissioned voluntary and private sector organisations to employ Independent Supporters to provide additional staffing to support parents and young people during the transitional period. KIDS are providing this service in your area.
