Independent consultant giving advice and support to families and schools on Education Health and Care (EHC) Plans, and whilst they still exist, Statements of Special Educational Needs (SEN), and related matters. For families, my aim is to help resolve difficulties with plans or statements where the free advice and support services cannot help, but the disagreement does not require a lawyer's involvement. I have extensive experience working in an SEN Team, so my aim is to use that knowledge to open up communication between families and the local authority or school to explore ways to reach agreement and avoid the need for parents to have to go through the SEN Tribunal process if possible. For schools, I can help with the new processes involved with EHC Plans and give independent advice in the event of disputes with the local authority over plans or statements, or in disputed situations relating to SEND.
