Need help with developing wider relationships with your child? Does your child have an interest in IT? Is there a need for transferable life skills? Then this service may be of use to you using ICT to create a dialogue and bridge to relationships

Individual Assessment for ICT

Individual Assessment for ICTcan be for a child or adult with physical , learning difficulties, dyslexia and autism to determine what ICT can enable the child or adult to communicate or record with using ICT. The assessment takes the form of a "try and see approach."

School Advice and Support for ICT SEN

Why ICT SEN? The C stands for Communication - not in the National Curriculum but contains a necessary aspect known as Augmentative and Alternative Comunication. ICT is a fast moving, fast changing area. Without help with from a specialist you may waste money investing in the wrong solution. Every school should consider putting the needs of their special needs pupils first! Getting IT right for them you get it right for everyboard. Full description

Assistive Technology is the matching of IT to allow users to communicate, record and write  their thoughts using a specialised method of input and or software to achieve it. AccessAbility Solutions provide an assessment, training and  consultation service to families, schools and organisations.

Myles Pilling is an experienced special schools teacher for 30 years, He worked as an ICT SEN Adviser for Wiltshire Council for 10 years. Now he runs his own company AccessAbility Solutions.  Myles works as a SEN consultant to Tablet Academy - a teacher training company that works with mobile solutions. Myles is passionate about training and  passing on knowledge and works as a part-time external lecturer to Bath Spa University on their Dyslexia courses where he provides up to date content on the fast changing world of IT.

A small scale  project with Bath Spa University on apps for Dyslexia has been completed which is published on MirandaNet. Myles is a fellow of MirandaNet., 

A project for 1 year was working with the Fonthill Foundation and Tablet Academy working with St John's School and College - a specialist college for autism. Myles used apps on ipads at the Brigthon Marina working with the pupils and students on making films, using ipads to record their interests and using the Marina as a source of information. 

Myles has written about this and other IT SEN topics in Special World, SEN Magazine, and  Nasen.
