Description of organisation
Telford & Wrekin Council's Inclusion & Support Team manages and delivers the disability specific activity provision that is made up of the Access 2 Activities Project (A2A) and Club 17.
The Access 2 Activities Project (A2A) provides fun leisure opportunities for disabled children & young people aged 5-25yrs living within Telford & Wrekin.
The A2A Project offers the following provision for disabled children & young people;
- Haughton After School Club
- Southall After School Club
- The Bridge After School Club
- A2A Holiday Activity Programmes for 5-19 year olds
- 16-25yrs Monthly Activity Group
- FYPD (Forum for Young People with a Disability)
- In Somebody Else's Shoes (Disability Awareness Training)
All A2A Holiday Activity and 16-25yrs provision is run with a subsidised cost attached.
Club 17 is a free membership youth project specifically for disabled young people aged 11 (Year 7) to 25 living within Telford & Wrekin.
Club 17 runs two sessions a week at the Web Youth Project, Webb Crescent Dawley TF4 3DU:
• Tuesday 7pm – 9pm
• Thursday 6pm – 8pm
There is a structured fun activity programme including Pool, Table-Tennis, Nintendo Wii, Arts and Crafts and more.
Club 17 has a fully functioning coffee bar, and offers a safe and relaxed enviroment for young people to take part in activities and socialise with their peers.
Transport for both A2A and Club 17 provision is available for those young people whose parents/carers do not have access to a car.
