Ambitious About Autism
Why did Ambitious about Autism decide to be a part of the SEND Consortium?
Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and young people with autism. We provide services, raise awareness and understanding, and campaign for change.
Our mission is to help children and young people with autism to learn, thrive and achieve. Through services such as Tree House School, Ambitious College and Talk about Autism we offer specialist education and support.
Speaking about the SEND consortium, Ambitious about Autism’s Chief Executive, Jolanta Lasota commented:
“We hear from many families who are struggling to access good quality local services. As a founding member of the SEND Consortium our aim is to provide them with good quality information so that they can access the services their child needs to learn, thrive and achieve”.
What is it that makes Ambitious about Autism unique?
Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects 1 in 100 people in the UK. It affects the way a person communicates and how they experience the world around them.
We believe that early intervention, education and support are critical in enabling children and young people with autism to lead fulfilling lives and this ethos underpins the range of high-quality services that we provide. Tree House School and Ambitious College provide specialist education to children and young people aged 4-25; Talk about Autism offers parents and carers a safe online forum for sharing information and advice; our campaigning influences legislation that will have a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people with autism.
As experts in autism education, our vision is to make the ordinary possible for the children and young people that we support.
