We can help you find the right support, services and information for your family

Categories in At home

In ‘At Home’ you can search for accessible and inclusive services that families of disabled children told us they would like or expect to be able to access in their own homes. Things like:

- Specialist equipment to use in or adapt your home, things like sensory toys, black out blinds, wheelchairs, wet rooms.

- People who will come to your home to help out. This could be a party entertainer who will adapt their act to meet your child’s needs, a specialist childminder, someone who undertakes personal care or a tradesperson who specialises in home adaptation.

SENDirect is new and growing daily, if you don’t find what you are looking for right away, let us know what you are looking for here & we’ll put a call out on social media, as well as asking our contacts to help you find it. Or you can tweet us at @SENDirectnews for help with your search.

This section of SENDirect might be particularly useful if your child is: home schooled, has complex medical needs, uses a wheelchair, feeding tubes or specialist aids and equipment. Families who consulted with us on what to include here had children with Cystic Fibrosis, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, mobility needs, Pathological Demand Avoidance, and Anaphylaxis.
